The process of creating Remote was one of distance. The album was collaboratively written and mixed by Korgy & Bass in Portland, OR and trumpeter Cyrus Nabipoor in New Orleans. Each composition uses melodies and textures sent by Nabipoor that were added to, chopped, re-sampled, and produced by drummer Barra Brown and analog beatsmith Alex Meltzer of Korgy & Bass. Comprising a mix of tape drums, sampled sounds, phat synths, trumpet, and ripping bass lines from Milo Fultz and Sam Arnold, Remote was signed, sealed, and delivered in the month of April 2019 all without them ever being the same room.
Remote sonically paints the borders between nature and urban decay, apathy and ingenuity, chaos and calm, all converging in the tension and release of our humanity: a sonic journey from industrialization to the modern day tech industry.
